This morning we collect you at your Sydney accommodation and departing the city, we travel north over the Sydney Harbour Bridge via the Gore Hill Freeway to join the Pacific Highway and then the F3 Freeway. 

This morning, we travel directly to the Hunter Valley, via the township of Cessnock.

The Hunter Valley is Australia’s oldest winemaking region. Embracing its rich history and combining this with a contemporary style, the Wine Region has created an idyllic environment for producing world class wines and all that goes with them. From its visually splendid location at the base of the Brokenback Ranges, the magnificent landscape unfolds to unlock the secrets to one of the world’s most awarded wine regions.

Semillon and Shiraz are predominately the best wines produced, and the Chardonnay and Verdelho styles are also recognised on the world stage. Other emerging styles and blends, from ‘Big Red’s’ to charming dessert wines are also gaining recognition locally and around the world.

Our first stop this morning is Hope Estate Winery. Hope Estate has vineyards in 3 of Australia’s premium wine regions and is dedicated to making premium wines.

The Estate only sells what they grow and are firm believers in estate grown varietal wines. It’s the only way to ensure that the distinctive regional characters can shine through and to do this the entire process has to be done on site, from growing to bottling. Here, we will enjoy a tasting of 6 premium wines and our Late Picked Verdelho, accompanied by a delightful cheese platter.

Departing from Hope Estate, we continue on travelling through the rich wine country to our lunch venue, Tuscany Wine Estate. Set on 26 acres in the heart of premium wine country, the views from the restaurant are sublime…rolling vineyards and the Brokenback Ranges. Here, a tapas style lunch is enjoyed, accompanied by a selection of wines chosen to “marry” with each dish.

Departing from Tuscany Wine Estate, we continue on to another Boutique Winery to enjoy an informative tasting of the wines produces.

Our final stop for the day is to satisfy the sweet tooth in us all. Located in the heart of the Hunter Valley wine country is the Hunter Valley Chocolate Company with a range of products from hand made Belgian chocolate to gourmet gifts. Enjoy tastings of some of the finest chocolate available!

Departing from the Hunter Valley, we commence our return to Sydney via the Freeway to arrive at your hotel at approximately 5.00 – 5.30pm.
