DAY 1 - Tuesday 29 January
Heading south along the Hume we call in at Mittagong for morning tea, and then pick up the Federal Highway to Canberra for lunch at Cotter Dam. We then head into the first of our Alpine Parks, Namadgi National Park, calling in at Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve on the way. Climbing higher we enter snowgum country and visit our first high country hut (Brayshaws) before settling in at Adaminaby for the night (next 2 nights at Adaminaby Country Inn Motel - 450km easy walking)

DAY 2 - Wednesday 30 January
Using Adaminaby as our base we follow the Alpine Way to historic Kiandra.  Time for walking before heading out along the Cooleman Plain for lunch at the restored Coolamine Homestead – more walking, snowgums and wildflowers, returning along mountain trails to Curango Homestead where we enjoy the hospitality of the Taylor’s (2000’s “Man from Snowy River”) for an evening of Campfires, dinner and wildlife spotting on the return journey to Adaminaby. (120kms - easy walk)

DAY 3 - Thursday 31 January
Today we follow high country roads to Jindabyne and then head south down the Snowy River Valley, morning tea at Wallace Craigie Lookout and lunch alongside the Old Wilson Customs Station of Suggan Buggan. We then follow one of Australia’s most spectacular wilderness roads through Alpine National Parks to Omeo (overnight at Golden Age Hotel - 250kms, easy walking)

DAY 4 - Friday 01 February
Time to take in the history of Omeo before heading through Anglers Rest and ascending to high altitude herbfields and snowgum environments of the Bogong High Plains. After settling into our overnight accommodation, it’s back on the bus for a climb to the top of Mt McKay (1840m) for sunset vistas of Mt Bogong, Mt Feathertops and beyond (next 2 nights at Falls Creek Hotel - 100kms, longer walks)

DAY 5 - Saturday 02 February
A day spent exploring the wildlife, flowers and huts of the Falls Creek area. There are over 100 huts in this Alpine National Park, many within easy walking of the roads (eg: Wallace Hut – the oldest on the high plains is a 10 minute easy walk from the road) so a day of easy walking, relaxing and great alpine scenery. (100kms, longer walks)

DAY 6 - Sunday 03 February
Back on the road today following the Kiewa Valley Highway off the mountains through the villages of Bogong and Mt Beauty and into the beautiful Kiewa valley. Through Tallangatta we join the Murray Valley Highway and travel through Corryong, Khancoban and along the Alpine Way through Tom Groggin over Dead Horse Gap to our next base for the next two nights at Jindabyne (2 nights at Quality Resort Horizons - 400kms)

DAY 7 - Monday 04 February
Another relaxing day today in the Snowy Mountains alpine areas. Many options available with weather conditions probably being the determining factor – Chairlift and walk to the summit of Kosciuszko (fine weather); walk around Thredbo and Charlottes Pass (inclement weather); train ride to Blue Cow (very inclement weather) (50kms, various walks)

DAY 8 - Tuesday 05 February
Our journey home takes us through Jindabyne and Cooma to the old mining town of Captain’s Flat (morning tea) and then to the National Trust listed town of Braidwood (walk and lunch). We join the
